Main Line Chess Club Championship starts October 11th!
After a long pandemic, the club has returned to over-the-board play
Two major changes come with this reopening:
1. Our club location is changing to St. George’s church in Ardmore; and
2. Proof of vaccination will be required to attend the club.
New Location!
The Main Line Chess Club will be meeting at St. Georges Church located at 1 W Ardmore Avenue in Ardmore PA. It is at the intersection of Ardmore Ave. and Darby Road.
Players should park in the parking lot behind the church. The parking lot can be entered from either Sulgrave Road or Darby Road. Players should then enter through the terra cotta colored door and climb one flight of stairs to find the playing room. In addition to a spacious playing room, there are separate rooms available for post game analysis and for non-playing parents on most nights!
Vaccination Requirement
Until further notice, the club will be open only to players who provide proof of full vaccination.
The board did not arrive at this decision lightly. We realize that some members will disagree with this policy. Nevertheless, we decided that this was the most prudent way to minimize the risks tied to returning to in-person play during the COVID-19 pandemic. To be clear, some risk of contracting COVID-19 still exists and members who choose to return to the club assume that risk. Our COVID-19 policy will be re-evaluated periodically in light of changing case numbers and CDC guidance. Members and all other club attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination the first time they attend the club.
Wearing masks will be encouraged but not required. And now, more than ever, members will be asked to stay home if they have a fever, cough, or are not feeling well.
See you at the club!
